BIO
Rebecca Torres Started her fashion career studying Fashion Design and Manufacturing at Cardonald College in Glasgow and furthered her education by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fashion Business at Caledonian University.
Rebecca worked in London with designer/stylist Nova Dando. During her time in London she assisted on a variety of photo shoots ranging from music videos to television adverts. After returning to her hometown of Glasgow, it was this rich experience in the UK fashion capital that inspired her to create her own label – REBECCA TORRES based in Glasgow’s City Centre.

Each garment is designed by Rebecca Torres and produced by a UK Manufacturer. It is important to the brand to keep manufacturing within the UK to help our industry and also to oversee every element of the manufacturing process.

Rebecca and her label REBECCA TORRES have been featured in a selection of publications, including Grazia, Look, Vice, Company, Cosmopolitan, Wallpaper and also a variety of popular fashion blogs such as Kingdom Of Style.

With such high demand for the garments by Rebecca Torres, the brand is currently in negotiations with international stockists.

As a young girl waking at 7am on a Sunday morning filled with excitement as she watched the classic 1960’s series of Batman & Robin, obsessed with the Lycra/spandex costumes full with colour, shapes and panelling and wishing she was Cat Women. Her brothers vast comic collection and love for all things sci-fi she is fascinated by this world, maybe not so for its plots or storylines but for the characters that inhabit this realm of fantasy women that seem invincible, alluring.

Today this fascination still exists within her design ethos; the ability for women to embrace their curves and be comfortable with their femininity is important whilst designing her garments. The designer views all of her collections as armour pieces, allowing the women who own them, the poise to take on any challenge that comes before them. It is their shield.

The brand obsession with shapes and all things panelled is evident in Rebecca’s creations and is a key element to a Torres garment. Thus, undoubtedly the key message of glamour and daring to stand out in a crowd is always achieved in Rebecca Torres’ highly wearable collections.
